Biography

Lisa is a skilled real estate practitioner who counsels clients in all aspects of real estate transactions and commercial finance.

Lisa’s practice spans the full spectrum of real estate transactions. She represents property owners and managers, developers, purchasers and sellers, family-owned businesses, global corporations, national retail chains, and landlords and tenants. Lisa’s background in land use law and litigation provides her with a sophisticated understanding of the potential risks her clients might face. This helps inform the negotiation and drafting process.

Lisa has drafted and negotiated store, office, retail, triple net, ground, parking lot/garage, and telecommunications leases on behalf of both owners/developers and tenants, covering leased space in office buildings, malls, strip centers and residential and commercial buildings. She frequently represents landlords on commercial evictions, foreclosures, and surrender agreements.

Lisa also handles commercial and residential transactions involving the purchase, sale and financing of properties and developments. This includes assisting clients in securing bank funding/loans, such as acquisition financing and construction loans and IDA project financing. Lisa is also well versed in structuring business agreements (asset-purchase agreements, sale agreements and corporate, shareholder and limited liability agreements), employment contracts, and business and equipment leases.

Lisa is a Member of the Town of Pound Ridge Zoning Board of Appeals.

Prior to joining Zarin & Steinmetz, Lisa was a litigation associate in the New York City office of Zeichner Ellman & Krause, and Epstein, Becker & Green, P.C. She received her Juris Doctor, from Brooklyn Law School in 1989. Lisa also received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University in 1984.
