Zarin & Steinmetz Secures Approval for Jane Foodie Adaptive Reuse Project

Last week, David Cooper obtained site plan and special permit approval from the Port Chester Planning Commission for the adaptive reuse of a former bank building on North Main Street. The approved project will transform the shuttered bank building into a food preparation facility and accessory cafe for Jane Foodie, a Westchester-based business founded by a local entrepreneur who recently secured an investment on the television show Shark Tank.

Jane Foodie specializes in premium preservative-free parbaked breads, pastries, and precooked meals. The products are flash-frozen immediately after preparation, preserving their flavor, texture, and nutritional value for direct-to-consumer sales.

The approved plans include the creation of an open-view kitchen behind glass in an area of the bank formerly used as a conference room and offices. Additional interior space will be converted into a small café and grab-and-go retail section.

This approval marks a key step forward for a growing local business and supports innovative adaptive reuse of commercial space in downtown Port Chester.
