White Plains, NY, February 22, 2024 — Zarin & Steinmetz LLP, a boutique law firm concentrating in real estate and land development, has named Lee J. Lefkowitz a partner of the firm. Lefkowitz will be a key part of the firm’s growing litigation practice, helping to expand its breadth with a focus on commercial and business disputes.

Lefkowitz joined the firm in 2020, successfully litigating many of the firm’s regulatory, commercial, and contractual cases. During that time, he has handled complex matters ranging from eminent domain to Article 78 proceedings and constitutional disputes. He has extensive experience in trial and appeals courts across state and federal levels, including the Supreme Court of the United States.

“Among our clients and in the market at large, we’re seeing increasing demand for services that extend into general commercial, business, and land use disputes” said Managing Partner David Steinmetz. “We’re thrilled to add someone with Lee’s experience and track record to the Partner ranks as the firm continues to evolve to satisfy client needs.”

Lee will also continue to be a leader in the firm’s land use and zoning work, counseling clients on environmental regulation and enforcement proceedings as well as representing clients before municipal boards throughout New York. Lefkowitz also has a passion for affordable housing regulation, having led CLEs and published articles on the subject. He currently leads the New York State Bar Association Housing Task Force focused on drafting and promulgating proposed legislation on the issue.

“I’m pleased to continue to help grow the firm’s strong presence throughout the tri-state area,” said Lefkowitz. “Zarin & Steinmetz has a well-earned reputation for strategic vision across all aspects of real estate law – transactions, land use and zoning, compliance, litigation – and I’m excited to help build on that versatility.”

Admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C., Lefkowitz received his J.D., cum laude, from Cardozo Law School and his B.A. in Math and English, cum laude, from Binghamton University.
